Konni’s Tonsillectomy Story

Hemorrhage After Tonsillectomy
Tonsillectomy Recovery Experience

I don’t know where to start my story from.
I am 27yrs old female. Firstly, i had to make the Tonsillectomy because my tonsils were full of holes from past infections. The holes were filled with food and bacteria obviously, so everyday i had tonsil stones and they didn’t go away. Also my tonsils where bigger than the normal.
My doctor advised me to remove them, also with coblation method which is the simplest, without bleeding or hurting the around tissues and faster recovery. Because of this, i was comfortable on the whole operation thing. First day after the surgery i woke up and i wasn’t feeling so much pain. I was on anesthesia and i could talk also. They told me they found an absess behind the right tonsil, so he had to put me some stitches.ok, I couldn’t eat but it wasn’t so bad. The first 3 days in general were painful but bearable. From the 4th day and after,it was just the worst of my life. I couldn’t eat,i couldn’t drink,i couldn’t do nothing.i was in one corner holding my hands on the ears and wishing this pain to disappear.they had to take me back to clinic day 5,since no painkiller could help the pain. In the clinic they were putting me injections, solutions and everything to restore my dehydration and weakness from the pains.i needed help since i was in a really bad situation without drinking eating or sleeping.
I stayed 2 whole days in,all the time in painkillers and without much food.the worst was that i had ulcers near the ‘wounds’ so the pain was more than anyone can imagine or live! I just wish i forget it and no one experience this ever. From day 8 I started feeling a little but better but still not full. I was eating more since i had to. The scabs were less than before but i still had. The ulcers were almost gone but i now have one new on the tongue. Today is day 13th and I’m still in pain but is less. I push myself to eat less, since the first advice from my doctor was to try to eat normal food no baby food, to let the scabs and the wound heal!
I reduced the painkillers to 2-3 times per day, and i sleep better. In the mornings is still painful but i have patience because the worst is gone. But is still painful for me. I hope the next days to recover fully. My personal advice: do the surgery if you have to, if you hear terrible stories, try to avoid reading them or hearing them. Everyone is different, every recovery and organism is different. Don’t be scared before surgery or stressed.you will survive like we all did and still do.Is for your good and in the future you will have many positive outcomes.DRINK a lot of water as much as it hurts try to.I tried as well, but i was dehydrated because the ulcers didn’t help me drink enough.Eat whatever you can, but EAT food! You need food to help the scabs go down and the muscles to work.otherwise u will have ulcers after and jaw pain.If u can’t sleep one night, ask for a sleeping pill or something.I was dying from pain but sleep was helping me.

In the mornings you will have a lot of pain, some honey in the water or raw, will make your throat softer to swallow. Avoid acidic foods, citrus etc and hot food. Ice creams help, but the important is the constant hydration of the operated area.lastly, I advise you to find a comedy series like friends or anything funny that will let you forget the pain and focus in that. If you sit and cry is worst. Tv will help you get away from current pain and mood. Avoid bacteria and public places! Find time for yourself and love yourself and make dreams for the recovery days that are coming very soon! Is really hard, but you can do it!!!!!!!!
